Chrome 88 was released this weekend and with it came a change to the default behaviour in chrome for initiating the omnibox search. This stops the space bar triggering Gurn and instead defaults to using the TAB key.
To change this behaviour and restore support for the spacebar you must do the following.
- Visit chrome://flags/#omnibox-keyword-search-button in your chrome browser
- Change the dropdown from default to disabled
- Relaunch the Chrome browser
